Description

FteDIN416 modules are non-isolated, switching DC to DC power converters, which can supply a regulated and adjustable +Vo (up to 1A or 3A depending on version ) from batteries (typically 12, 24 or 48 V) to data acquisition or similar components. They include input overvoltage protection, a resettable PTC fuse at the input and short-circuit (foldback) protected output. Also included are an input voltage sensing circuit and a logic-level enable pin (-EN) for ON/OFF control. Typical efficiency is around 75 %, switching frequency is 52kHz (+/-10%) using buck architecture, and uses widely available power ICs ( LM2575/2576 – Texas Instruments, with second sources: On Semiconductor and Micrel) These ICs have internal over-temperature shutdown and cycle by cycle current limiting. The external shape (Figure 3.1) is adaptable to standard DIN rail mounting, and include B2AZ screw terminal mounting.

Construction

Upper connections are inputs, and outputs plus the enable pin (-EN) and sensing are at the bottom side. From the electric diagram the common negative can be observed.

FteDIN416 Board

The board form factor is designed to fit in a DIN type Chillemi R416 plastic cabinet. Board is manufactured in double sided FR-4 with PTH and large conduction surfaces.
